On 10th July at 21:00, the Algarve Orchestra invites you to embark on an open-air musical journey at the stunning Vilamoura Marina. In a setting where the sea breeze meets the art of sound, this concert celebrates two fundamental pillars of European culture — Vienna and Paris — through three remarkable works from the wind instrument repertoire.
Like the wind itself, the programme begins with Franz Schubert’s Octet for Winds, D.72, evoking the Viennese classical elegance tempered by the early lyricism of the young composer.
Next, Children’s Corner by Claude Debussy, in a delicate arrangement by Robert G. Patterson, transports us to the world of childhood through six small impressionist pieces, full of subtlety and childhood memories.
The evening culminates with the brilliant Petite Symphonie by Charles Gounod, a work dedicated to the legendary Paul Taffanel, reflecting the refinement and sophistication of the 19th-century French school.
This concert is organised by Inframoura, with the support of Vilamoura Marina and Vilamoura World.
